INTERNATIONAL SPEED LIMITS SET TO 55 MPH SAVES GAS AND LIVES

SET THE SPEED LIMITS TO 55 MPH ON HIGHWAYS ACROSS THE WORLD. OUR HIGHWAYS ARE OPENED TO HIGH SPEED LIMITS. THIS ALONE WOULD SAVE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS PER YEAR. A VEHICLE TRAVELLING AT 55 MPH WOULD HAVE MORE GAS AND SAVE LIVES, THEN A VEHICLE TRAVELLING AT 70 MPH AND INCREASING THE CHANCE OF A VEHICLE ACCIDENT AND GUZZLING MORE FUEL WHEN WERE IN A FUEL CRISIS. IF PEOPLE WANT TO RACE, GO TO THE RACE TRACKS. ENERGY CONSERVATION ...more »

Nuclear Waste

DOE Should explain and make transparent what the plan for nuclear waste is. Current facilities are overwhelmed with waste while they wait for Yucca Mountain to open. Yucca progress has been stalled. Even if Yucca opened it would not be able to take all the waste that currently exists. How will any future facilities contribute to the waste stream? What is the ultimate plan for nuclear waste? These questions demand ...more »

Put visitor logs online, for anyone visiting a DOE employee

Put visitor logs online, for anyone visiting a DOE employee, contractor, appointee, or agent. We the People have the right to see who has been meeting with our government. Logs should include at least: 1.) name, title company, 2.) date/time, 3.) person(s) being visited, 4.) reason for visit. This would make FOIA requests so much more specific.

DOE management inprovements

DOE cannot capture the importance of the President's openness initiative without seriously changing its managerial attitudes. This web site is fine for what it is, but the people who post here are unlikely to find advocates for their requests. My experience with DOE has been that it finds every excuse to not respond to FOIA requests and its appeals system is silly. Pulling out the old Glomar exception to thwart my FOIA ...more »

Harness the power from vehicles on the roads

Each vehicle that drives down the road is producing power. It's a matter of collecting or harnessing the power from the vehicle and relaying to a power plant. There are hundreds of thousands of vehicles on the roads, wheels turning, alternaters charging, why not harness this power and use it as renewable energy that can power lights, or other devices?
