Other OpenGov Ideas & Information Resources

Rather than post each of my "OpenGov" Ideas at 27 different websites, I have posted them at the GSA's website (since they are in the forefront of the OpenGov initiative). So, by this notice, the members of the OpenGov Team for this agency have been informed of those ideas. (At least, now, you can't say you were unaware of them.) http://opengsa.ideascale.com/a/pmd/29640-6960 ALSO -- Those OpenGov Team members, ...more »

Variable Tariff on Oil that creates a fixed price within the US

If the US were to decide on a fixed and fair price for OIL within its borders, then OPEC would be prevented from manipulating markets within the US, which ultimately stands in the way of bringing the cost of Green Technology down to the levels they would be at naturally without the artificial interference of OPEC. So in such a "variable Tariff/Fixed Price" model, if the price of oil were to rise above the fixed price ...more »

Ween Oil/Car corps off dirty fuel by subzidizing gree retooling

It's 100% clear that the biggest thing standing in the way of living in a world of ALL green, clean energy (or progress in general) are the companies and people who stand to lose market share as a result of the emergence of new companies and new technologies. These people and large companies will fight tooth and nail to maintain their profits. I don't particularly care for these companies or people, BUT I'd rather live ...more »

Applying Nash Equilibrium models to decision making

Already-proven engineering and ethical principals need to a greater degree be incorporated into the decision-making process. In particular, given its promise of finding optimal solutions, it is key that Nash Equilibrium models are used to form the daily decisions that determine how limited resources are spent, thus optimizing energy sufficiency and sustainability. Great care must be made in structuring and reviewing ...more »

INTERNATIONAL SPEED LIMITS SET TO 55 MPH SAVES GAS AND LIVES

SET THE SPEED LIMITS TO 55 MPH ON HIGHWAYS ACROSS THE WORLD. OUR HIGHWAYS ARE OPENED TO HIGH SPEED LIMITS. THIS ALONE WOULD SAVE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS PER YEAR. IF PEOPLE WANT TO RACE, GO TO THE RACE TRACKS. ENERGY CONSERVATION ...more »

Develop an OpenDOE Social Strategy

Disruptive Technologies: A Holistic, Pragmatic Approach New technologies are emerging at a faster pace than Agencies can swallow. The rate of obsolescence outpaces the rate of change. Despite the new technology flood, Agencies lack a strategy to on-board these disruptions. As a result, they often react, flounder, or simply ignore them. We can solve these problems in four major areas of practice: Leadership ...more »

Energy Multitasking: Jobs, Schools, First Steps

This idea is so simple I'm surprised no one has come up with it yet before me. Photovoltaic solar energy (along with wind turbines, but this idea has mostly to do with solar energy) is the ultimate in green, carbon-neutral energy. It uses an existing energy resource (the sun's light) to generate energy and ultimately electricity. There are problems with the energy transfer efficiency, sure. But improvements are made ...more »
